Sick Day Blues

I've been sick more times in the past twelve months than any other time I can remember. Damn you, East Coast germs!

My personal recipe for this particular sick day:

--Green tea with honey.

--Restorative yoga.

--Holy Land by D.J. Waldie.

--Nyquil.

--Naps.

--The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou.

Please let this be a short-lived bug! I'm already sick of this couch.

So Many Things, part 4

1. KEXP in Seattle. I never listened to it in the 6 years I lived there. Now I stream it every day.

2. Playing Weather Roulette. Without looking out the window or checking online, just get dressed for what you imagine the weather will be that day. Especially fun in early Spring.

3. Having sound on my work computer again.

4. Having sound on my demon laptop again. (Now I've gone and jinxed it, I'm sure!)

5. The existence of magazines such as Cat Fancy and Sheep!

6. Cherry Coca-Cola.

7. Lookbook.nu

8. The Park Avenue doormen who cheer me on during my midnight runs to Grand Central Station.

9. Men's watches, button-downs, and sweaters.

10. Pilot Precise Rolling Ball pens.

Listen: Neutral Milk Hotel

At work I accidentally put this song on repeat. I was kinda out of it -- read: mindless computer zombie, heart and soul sucked dry by fluorescent lighting and bad coffee -- and didn't notice til about an hour later that the song hadn't changed. Then I shrugged and continued to listen to it anyway. It's a fucking great song.

Then I listened to this one a few times:

Then I went home happy.

Bluestockings

The pile of library books is running amok. I have til next Saturday to finish all these -- and I haven't started any of them! God damn, guess that means it's time to stop watching Law & Order...
